How do I get a business number?

When you register your business name online through the BC OneStop Business Registry, you receive a business number. Your business number is used to register for GST/HST, PST and ordering wholesale items.

Do I have to register my new business for GST/HST?

You don’t have to register for a GST/HST number if you are small supplier whose revenue is equal to or less than $30,000 in a calendar quarter and over the last four consecutive calendar quarters. Small suppliers may register voluntarily. If you exceed the $30,000 threshold in a single calendar quarter or year, you must register for GST/HST.
